We found this at an estate in Lyon, France from an elderly woman who had collected rare crowns her entire life.
This crown was saved from a church that had been demolished in France long ago.
This would have been used on a large, life size Madonna or Santos at the alter of the church.
It is French and from the late 1800s.
The hand wrought filigree work on this crown is just an amazing example of true artisan work at its best.
The mercury glass balls that are nestled inside of each flower are so gorgeous.
All the stones are brillant and shine so beautifully.
